The Endocannabinoid System

The Endocannabinoid system was Discovered by Rafael Mechoulam and William Devane of Hebrew University in 1992 so it is relatively new information.

This network of cells and receptors is the largest network of cells throughout the body.

It directly links together with all other systems throughout the body like the nervous system, endocrine, digestive and respiratory to name a few.

Our human body produces a neurotransmitter called Anandamide which is a naturally occurring cannabinoid that is indigenous to the human body.

This is also known as the Bliss Molecule stemmed from the Sanskrit word Ananda.

Anandamide is a lipid soluable fatty acid created from omega-6 essential fatty acids.

There are 3 known Anandamides according to Mechoulam’s Study

These chemicals our body creates attaches to the CB1 and CB2 receptors to create an overall balance of mental/physical health.

It has been shown to increase happiness, creativity and create a balance in many systems inside of the body.
